Free Blog

Today we are writing free blogs in Physical Education class. Free blogs are great because I can talk about anything I want instead of a focused topic. Today I took a day off from school and it was great! I went to Best Buy and I bought a Hunting Game for Xbox 360. Most Dangerous Game is an intense game that is great to play with friends.

Last Monday I had a Flag Football game. We won 38-36 and it was sooooooo much fun. I threw four touchdowns and ran for two more. This Tuesday Decemeber 7th 2010, My flag football will be in Part 2 of Newsday. Newsday is doing a story on Flag Football. There is also a video of my team on Newsday.com.

On Monday we will continue our Exergame unit in physical education class. We will be playing Microsoft Kinect, Playstation Move, and Nintendo Wii. These systems are great becasue you can play video games as well as exercise. That is one of the biggest problems in today's society, Obsesity. If more of today's youth got up off the couch and burned off some calories we would not be in the situation we are in today as a country. The highest obseity rates ever in the history of human kind.

T-Bird Nation!!!

After 14 longggg years of waiting, the Connetquot Thunderbirds won the Class 1 Long Island Championship! The team finished the year 10-2, winning 5 in a row to close out the season. The team is full of hard working members who were in the weight room everyday during the winter and summer. All their hard work paid off! You guys should be proud of what you accomplished this season!

Yes We Can!

We all have just witnessed history in the making and it was awesome! President-elect Barack Obama, just gave his victory speech to over 120,000 people in Grant Park in Chicago. People will remember this day for years to come. I will remember where I was when I found out Obama had received enough Electoral votes. It was 11pm EST and I was watching CNN with my friends. I am proud to have Barack Obama as my President as should all Americans. Better times are coming. Obama 08!

11/7/08

As some of you may know, D.J. and I will be teaching a lesson on Friday 11/7/08. We can not and will not divulge any information to what the lesson will be about but we can say if everything goes as planned it will be an awesome lesson that no one has seen before!!!! Also as a side note, Lab D starts a week from tomorrow. Make sure you are well prepared for this lesson because it is showtime now. You are on your own for 15 minutes. It will either be the fastest 15 minutes or the slowest 15 minutes. It is up to you how well you prepare.

Halfway There!!!

So we are about halfway through the semester now which means its time for International Lab! Woot! So after watching numerous groups go for both classes so far, I feel a lot of good things are being accomplished so far but there is still much more work to be done. It will be interesting to see how the groups progress through the three separate sessions. Take our feedback in stride and try to make yourself better every time you teach. It is only a matter of time before it becomes second nature. To give you a little preview of what is to come. Professor Yang and I will unveil a new idea for use in the classroom on Monday ;) Stay tuned! I am getting tired of typing now so have fun watching this video..........Did you expect me to disappoint and not have something awesome?

Update!

I hope everyone had a great October three day weekend! Let's give a hand to the University for such a long break. It was much needed!! It has been three weeks since my last post. That is wayyy too long. Well i guess i will just have to make up for it with this post. The past three weeks have been interesting to watch. I have been able to observe the class and see what was done right and what could use improvement. While people are teaching, I think to myself, "what can I do to make this lesson better?". Overall I firmly believe this class is not only making you guys better but myself a better teacher as well. Lab C is now on the agenda and it should exciting to see what kind of ideas are brought to the table. I suggest really broadening your horizons because finding new activities is always fun and rewarding. Teaching soccer, basketball, and team handball gets old after awhile. Try to find new games and teach the class so I can use them in the future. haha! Well before I wrap up this post, I found a picture of a certain 255 teacher when he went to school back in the day. It is funny because he hasn't changed a bit since then. Truly amazing!!!
